Determining the Size of Your Dining Table
Before we get into the different tablecloth sizes we offer, it’s important to know the exact size of your table as well as your desired drop length. While different types of tables tend to have an average tablecloth size, not all types are made equally, which is why we have a formula to help you find the perfect size for your table.
After getting the measuring tape you will need for your dining table, we recommend you clear the table before making final measurements. If you have a rectangular table, you will need to get its length and width, and if you have a round table, you will need to get its diameter instead. If you have an oval table, use the length and width of the table.
If your table has leaf extensions, make sure to use them or remove them for the measurements depending on whether you wish to use them. If you wish to use a square tablecloth for your round table, you may use the diameter of the table to represent the length in the formula.

Measuring Your Dining Table Drop
The “drop” for your table is the distance below the serving portion of the table that the tablecloth reaches. Depending on whether you want your table linens to meet a casual or formal occasion, you’ll want the drop to be within a certain length. Ideally, you will want 6-8 inches for a casual setting and 10-12 inches for a formal setting. We recommend placing a flat bed sheet over your table to visualize what the varying lengths will look like. The drop will be measured from the table’s edge to the desired length.
Calculating Measurements

Round Dining Table:
· Required Tablecloth Length = Table Diameter + Double the Desired Drop Length
Rectangular Table
· Required Tablecloth Length = Table Length + Double the Desired Drop Length
· Required Tablecloth Width = Table Width + Double the Desired Drop Length
