Never did we think we'd say the words "chic" and "sanitize" in the same sentence, but this year has us doing all sorts of things we didn't expect. To bring order to the mayhem, we sat down with organizer extraordinaire Korinne Kubena Belock of Urban Simplicity to learn how elevate mundane health and safely essentials to the standards of a fine home. A former campaign organizer for Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Belock was named to New York Magazine's Best of New York 2016 and has been featured everywhere from ABC News to Real Simple as an organizing expert.
"This holiday season is all about health, safety and clean hands!" says Belock, who suggests setting up a sanitizing station on a dresser or end table in your guest bedroom. "One of my favorite tips is to repurpose a bath vanity set to create a station that matches your guest room décor. Use a tray to keep supplies, like face makes, wipes, and tissues contained. For a beautiful upgrade, decant hand sanitizer into a soap pump dispenser."
Belock styled Labrazel's Abaca Flax vanity set as an example, and added in a frasier fir scented diffuser from Thymes to complete the set. A oversized woven wicker tray from Amanda Lindroth acts as the perfect mobile base for your chic sanitizing station. Look out for more home organization tips from Urban Simplicity in the near future.
